Performance with UTM Parameters

A UTM Tracking Parameter is a code snippet appended to a URL to monitor campaign and content performance. By integrating our Tracking Parameters into your Ads Manager accounts and marketing content, every visitor will notify the Growify Pixel about the ad they clicked before visiting your store. Various types of Tracking Parameters and UTMs exist, each with different implementation methods. Simply copy the provided tracking parameters below and paste them into the appropriate section of your Ads Manager account.

Meta Ads

Each Ad you create/edit on Meta Ads manager has a Tracking section.

Employ these tracking parameters within your Meta Ads or simply add to whatever tracking parameters you already use:

gr_source=facebook&gr_campaign={{campaign.id}}&gr_term={{adset.id}}&gr_content={{ad.name}}&gr_fbadid={{ad.id}}

If you prefer traditional UTMs, you can also make use of these:

utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign={{campaign.name}}&utm_term={{adset.name}}&utm_content={{ad.name}}&utm_id={{ad.id}}

NOTE: If your ads do not contain the following set of tracking parameters, we cannot guarantee comprehensive attribution results.

There's a text field there called "URL Parameters" where you can paste in tracking parameters. Every Ad that you want to track with the Growify Pixel will need our recommended tracking parameters in there.

You can also bulk edit your Ads within Meta Ads Manager, so you won't have to do this one at a time.

*Warning: Updating the URL Parameters on your ads will send the ad into a "processing" phase. The processing phase can take up to 1 hour and will pause spend on your ads while they're being processed by Facebook.

On some occasions, updating the URL Parameters on an active ad has reset the social proof on the ad & sent the ad back into the "learning phase".

Google Ads

Employ these tracking parameters within your Google Ads If you do not have any tracking parameters, previously set

{lpurl}?gr_source=google&gr_campaign={campaignid}&gr_term={adgroupid}&gr_gadid={creative}

If you already have UTMs in your Tracking Template or prefer traditional UTMs, ensure that the following parameters exist in your template or add any missing ones using an "&" symbol.

utm_source=google&utm_campaign={campaignid}&utm_term={adgroupid}&utm_id={creative}

NOTE: If your ads do not contain the following set of tracking parameters, we cannot guarantee comprehensive attribution results.

Where to manually add these tracking parameters:

In your Google Ads account, click Settings on the left-hand side, and then select Campaign or Account settings and go to Change tracking templates

Klaviyo

  1. Ensure your Campaign & Flow values for utm_source are set as klaviyo

  2. Ensure utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_id tracking params are enabled.

  3. Click + Add a custom UTM parameter and fill in the form:
    ​- UTM Parameter: gr_source
    ​- Campaign Email Value: klaviyo
    ​- Flow Email Value: klaviyo

  4. Toggle on the Automatically add UTM parameters to links option.

  5. Click Update UTM Tracking Settings button.
